================================

Yaaaaawn. Sleepy today.

Got up at my normal 4 am and then biked 20 miles.

Now it’s 2:17 in the afternoon and I’m about to get packed to head over to Atlanta. Meeting Mike Stewart – The Internet Audio Guy – for lunch tomorrow. And hanging out with some friends.

Having a “schedule” like that reminds me of my favorite answer when people ask, “What do you do?”

It can be tough to answer, but I’ve been experimenting a bit. Here’s the latest..

Me: “I’m a freedom architect.”

Them: Strange look.

Them: “Freedom architect?”

Me: “Yep. I help people gain financial freedom so they can have physical freedom instead of being locked in a cubical or any other small indoor space when they should be outside playing golf or stuff.”

Them: Sad look from being in a small space all day.

Them: “You think you could help me get free like that?”

Me: “Maybe.” Wink.

Them: Smile

Me: Bigger smile

Which brings us to part 2 of this series…

Freedom is definitely accelerated when you have a loyal group of people who enjoy your content. Whose trust you’ve earned through consistency and value. Let’s look at the next 3 tips for creating money making messages.

05 :: Split Test For The Perfect Balance

As your list grows, you will want to split test your messages. You might find that the way you set things up in the beginning wasn’t best. We all want to improve our results and split testing makes that possible. By tweaking a few things here and there you can increase your open rate and responses.

If you have a good autoresponder company, the chances are high that they will provide you with the information and tools you need to split test.

Companies like Aweber will automatically send half of your list one message and the other half a different message. They will then track the results so you can compare them and make changes.

06 :: Consider The 3-to-1 Formula

A popular formula that some of the top marketers use is sending 3 relationship building e-mails to every 1 sales e-mail. This is especially important in the beginning stages, and will set the tone for later e-mails.

What you might want to do is have the first e-mail be entirely focused on offering quality information and building a relationship, the second e-mail making a very soft pitch, the third e-mail selling a little harder, and finally the fourth e-mail blatantly promoting a product.

If it makes you feel more comfortable having a system to work with, then this is a sequence that you may want to use.

07 :: Study The Basics Of Copyrighting

You may not think of yourself as a copywriter, but I recommend that you study the basics.

Elements such as the AIDA formula will certainly improve your writing and response levels.

AIDA stands for:

Attention
Interest
Desire
Action

Capturing their attention, interest, desire, and finally having them perform the desired action.

No, I’m certainly not recommending that you hold off on starting a list or growing your list until you’re a highly skilled copywriter, but I do recommend checking out good copy to help add oomph to your newsletters and articles.

Next time, issue 106, we’ll hit the final 3 tips in this series.

Success is NOT an Accident,

Money Making Autoresponder Messages

Nicheology Profit Letter
Issue 104 :: Money Making Messages – Part 1
By Paul Evans
=============================

Hey!

Hope you are having an AWESOME day!!

Let’s talk about your list building follow-up…

Having a series of money-making autoresponder messages is a super important part of the online business process, obviously. If your autoresponder copy is dull and ineffective, it doesn’t matter how big your list is because you’re not going to make any sales. That’s why it’s very important that you understand how to write good copy before you get started.

After you sign up for your autoresponder account, you will want to load it with messages that will gain people’s trust and help you make sales.

01 :: Understand The Difference Between Follow-Up and Broadcast Messages

If you are completely new to list building, you may not know the difference between a follow-up message and a broadcast message.

Follow-up message:

Your follow-up messages are what the members of your list receive no matter when they sign up. These will usually be in a sequence that is delivered at a predetermined rate. So, if Sally signs up on Tuesday she will receive follow-up message #1 on Tuesday. If Tom signs up on Friday, he will receive follow-up message #1 on Friday.

That means that your autoresponder sequences are your little relationship builders and salespeople 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Broadcast messages:

These types of messages are sent out to your entire list so that they receive them at the same time (also referred to as an “email blast”). This is a good option if you have something to share that is not a normal part of the sequence. It might be a special announcement or a time-sensitive or limited-time-offer special deal.

Use both types of messages in your business for best results.

02 :: Think About How Often You Should Send Messages

At first, you might be nervous about mailing to your list because you’re not sure how many messages you should send and how often. Unfortunately, there is not one correct answer to this question. The answer depends on your niche, the relationship you have with your members, and what kind of information you share.

If your messages offer a lot of value, people will probably want to receive them more often. If your list messages are more focused on making sales, people may expect them (and want them) less often.

Still, the balance is individual, so you should test what is best for you. A good autoresponder will show you the number of people who click on your message when you send it. If the number stays high with more frequent messages, your unsubscribe rate doesn’t increase, and sales tend to remain high, then your list may want to be contacted more frequently.

What some marketers suggest is having one autoresponder message scheduled per week, with perhaps a broadcast message in between if you need to have a special mailing. Yes, at times the messages might land on the same day to certain readers, but that’s no reason to avoid sending broadcast mailings to your follow-up message recipients.

03 :: Carefully Craft Your First Message

First impressions count. That’s why you need to carefully write your first autoresponder message. It is the first impression your list members will have of you. Even if they really liked what your website had to say, they will unsubscribe very quickly if they don’t think your list will offer them a lot of value.

Your first message should almost never contain a sales pitch. This is your chance to prove that they will want to remain on your list. You want to be warm, open, and friendly. You should also consider offering a special bonus or surprise for free.

This will immediately help set a positive association with your messages. This can increase the open rates on your e-mails, put your relationship on the right path, and help you make more sales later on.

04 :: Decide When To Make Your First Sales Pitch

Some marketers are focused on making the sale right away. However, you may want to consider holding off until you are at least a few messages into email sequence.

Now, this rule doesn’t apply if people sign up to get a coupon or special product offer. Then they would expect that they are going to be sold to right away.

However if your list members signed up to get some valuable information, they may not take too kindly to getting pitched to right away. This is something you may want to test, but you need to think about the relationship first and the money later in most cases.

In part two we’ll look at a few more ways to make money with your follow-up!

Rapid Product Creation

=====================================

Malawi Update: Thank you for all the prayers and condolences for our Malawi work. http://100xmissions.org/?p=208 The children are doing well and Dana made it safe to Malawi. Gracian’s recovery is coming along quickly.

—————————————————————–

It’s been rumored that I was a late talker. The family tried their best to help me create a vocabulary…

“Ma…ma…ma…”

“Daaa…Daaaaa…Daaaaaaaaaaaaaawg.”

(Daaaaaaaaaaaaawg is the actually word length and pronunciation in the South.)

However, it’s also rumored that once I started talking I never quit!!!!!!

Hmph!

That’snottrueidonottalkthatmuchandverythingisaymakesperfectseneseanineverchangesubjectsorleavebytrainofthoughtwhensquireldoingwithinthemiddleofanotherthoughtclimbingatreethere’snothingtoremaingfocused.

BUT talking is a GREAT way to create content and products. Its super fast! And since we ALL talk it should also be easy.

“Paul, it’s not the talking that’s hard, it’s what to talk about.”

Here are 3 ways to let others tell you what to talk about.

01 :: Market Mind Reading

Want to know what the market s thinking? 4 words for you… mag-a-zine rack (That’s two words elsewhere but 4 here in Bama.) Every article is a hot niche topic.

02:: Send a Survey

Ask you people what they like, dislike and want more of. Then you cover the info. They are telling you want they want. You just talk about what they turn in. (The survey tool I use.)

03:: Q & A

This is my personal favorite. Every month in Nicheology we do a live Q & A. Members turn in their questions and get them answered on the call. There’s no guess work about what needs to be covered.

Ask questions in our market. Go to a forum in your niche and simply post something like… “I’m working on a project to answer some of the most pressing questions facing _____. If you have anything you would like answered for free, just PM me.”

Now then… It would be wrong for me not to practice what I preach, so…

Mark Thompson and I are going to a secret location (probably somewhere close to a “Five Guys Burgers & Fries”) to meet with successful business builder and coach, John Morgan.

We are going to turn on the recorder and start tapping into the topics of Buzz Marketing, Brand Building, and Rapid Product Creation. So if you have questions that you would like to ask about these topics, this will be your chance to ask.

We could talk for HOURS on these topics (not hype), but we want to answer YOUR questions. And this is not limited to just online businesses. If you have an offline (brick and mortar) business and want to get some coaching insight, don’t let this get by without sending in at least one question. Yes, that implies that you can send in MORE than one question. :)

Both John and I have been working in the business world for years. We’ve seen businesses come and grow. And we’ve seen them sink and go. The question is, WHY does this happen and what can you do to make sure you’re not the “sink and go” business? I can give you the answer right now. The answer is: “It Depends.”

You see, your business is like no one else’s. So when you send in your questions, please try and be as specific as possible. This is your chance to get some specific answers for YOUR business.

Be sure to send in your questions today. We’ll read them, answer them, and compile them for you after the clandestine meeting.

Just enter your questions as a ”comment” below…

As always…

Success is NOT an Accident,
Paul

P.S. John Morgan kicks it HARD at www.internetfuse.com. They are always talking about how awesome he is over there. This is your chance to see him in full force, sharing a literal fortune of wealth-producing insight. AND with both of us there, we have made a pact to NOT even meet if we can’t have a blast! So: (1) ask your questions (2) prepare to have fun, and (3) get ready to soak up specific answers to your specialized questions

Find your niche. Building your list. Launch your product.

==================================

Do you have trouble making it to the finish line?

We all do!!!

It ain’t easy to stay focused, jammin’ and rockin’ and rollin’ all the time.

Heck, here in the South we live at a slower pace. We’re trained from birth to take things easy. We even talk slow. That’s why it’s called a Southern Drawl.

Yesterday I mentioned that my sites making the most money are taking the least time. That’s true. What I didn’t tell you was that they could be making so much MORE if I had stayed focused on them! There was no need to kill it every day. But just a little more time here and there would have made a big’ol difference.

And that’s the key to making it online.

Just steady, Freddy git’er done.

That’s why I was PUMPED to get the following…

Dear Paul,

I did it! – Thanks for the challenge! I have been studying and not implementing. The technical stuff gets me every time.

With your challenge of a Friday deadline, and lots of great tutorials in Nicheology and Content Goldmine I did several firsts in the last two days!

• I set up a WordPress blog
• Uploaded a theme and plugins
• Acvtivated the plugins
• Set up an Aweber account
• Built an opt-in box in Aweber
• Placed it on my blog
• Wrote a report & learned how to convert it to pdf
• Attached the report as a download for those who opt in.

That might not seem like much to someone who’s done it before, but I’d venture a guess that I spent close to 20 hours getting it done. Yikes! Actually it could have only taken me 10 hours but I had a coding issue with the .htaccess file.

Do I know what that is? No. And I couldn’t have fixed it myself either; but I had a deadline to meet, I had to submit my functional opt in box to Nicheology by FRIDAY!

I couldn’t allow myself to go into frustration induced hair pulling, because I’d make a very ugly bald woman! Instead I called Hostgator for help, and in minutes their first class customer service department fixed my .htaccess file problem.

Setting up a wordpress site first time is the hardest, I can confidently say I could repeat the same steps listed above in an hour or two. Now I’m beginning to see why WordPress is very popular.

As you can see there is much to do content wise on my blog, it’s basically empty, but not for long. www.mybudgetweddingplan.com

I’m so excited to be in a position to start building my first list.

Please tell the people that with all the tutorials in Nicheology and Content Goldmine, this is so doable, if you really want to get it done!

There’s a little sign that hangs over my kitchen sink that says “Wishes won’t wash dishes” Well, wishes won’t get an online business started either, but studying, time, and effort will!

Thank very much,
Maureen Mancha
www.MyBudgetWeddingPlan.com

P.S. Send out another challenge!

Congratulations, Maureen. GREAT work!!!!!

Maureen is talking about the challenge given to Nicheology members during the last Profit Academy. We set up an autoresponder and a squeeze page and everyone was challenged to get to work and make it to the finish line.

Love this…

“Wishes won’t wash dishes”

You got that right!!

If you’ve been throwing your money into a wishing well and waiting for a fortune to show up in your inbox, then I’ve got 3 words for you…

GET TO WORK!!!!

It’s that simple!

It’s Friday. Have something DONE by Monday. If you’re wanting to make money, don’t spend the weekend just relaxing. Plan that cubicle escape tunnel, get your shovel and start digging!

Success is NOT an Accident!

Here’s My Internet Marketing Confession

On August 13, 2009, in internet marketing, by Paul Evans

Issue 101: Confession
by Paul Evans
www.nicheologyprofitletter.com
==================================

First, thanks to all who donated to 100X Missions!!

Jane Button – http://design2marketsuccess.com

Bruce Ammons – http://godsmoneycoach.com

Dr. Robin Ivey – www.IAOCM.org

Jimmy D. Brown – www.PrimePLR.com

Craig Hardee – www.thesubmissionexpert.com

Gai Di Donna

Brian Bellomy – $1000

Perry Lawrence – $900 http://AskMrVideo.com

$2500.00 raised! And as always 100% of that goes to the children. Not one penny goes toward administration.

Now for a CONFESSION…

It’s been a week since the last issue of the Profit Letter.

Since then I’ve been evaluating my online businesses. And what I discovered was a bit shocking (at least to me.)

The businesses I work on the least make the most money. At the beginning I worked on them hard, but I worked specifically to make them self-sufficient. I worked so they would work without me.

The formula is :: Hard Work Up Front > Steady Income > Forgettable Yet Repetitive System

Some of the businesses I RARELY think about, but the money keeps coming in! :-)

And what’s crazy is this – the income isn’t small. It’s BIG. How would you like a five figure a MONTH revenue stream from a site you don’t even spend an hour a month on?

Pretty exciting, huh?

You bet!

You know what’s coming right??

Yep, I’m putting the entire start to finish system together for you. Everything I’m doing right now to make a lot of money without thinking about it and without spending much time on it. And the wild thing is it’s so simple. Nothing convoluted or difficult. Just common sense. You won’t make a million overnight, but you will have a surefire process in place to generate a solid predictable income.

No date set for release, but you’ll be among the first to know, obviously.

That’s my confession – sometimes this business is NOT that hard.

The first half of the year we’ve “hit hard work”, “making an effort” and “being disciplined.” And I certainly continue to believe in all those things. But there are ways to semi-auto-pilot your business so it becomes much easier.

Assignments:
-Take inventory of your online business.
-What 20% is making the 80% of your money?
-Where are you spending the most time?
-How much money is that time making you?

Success is NOT an Accident!

If you have EVER bought ANY of his products you know how great they are. (If you haven’t, you missed out big time.)

Jimmy helped us celebrate the 5 year anniversary of Nicheology back in May. It was an AWESOME call. But who would expect less? Jimmy is KNOWN for incredible content. He never disappoints.

Every now and then he takes some of his personal content and creates a special package. A private label rights package.

This is one of those times…

This is your chance to get content written by one of the best internet marketers and put YOUR NAME on it.

Getting to put your name on Jimmy D.’s content catapults you ahead of the crowd. You have instant products that you will be proud to sell. And products customers will thank you for!

Internet Marketing Lifestyle

On August 7, 2009, in online business, by Paul Evans

Mark Thompson and I drove over to ATL today to meet-up with Lynn Terry and Nicole Dean (http://twitpic.com/d1peb).

During lunch we were talking about the “internet marketing lifestyle.”

Many of our “guru” friends have turned corporate. Big offices (with lease payments). Lots of employees. Nothing wrong with any of that, but we are super thankful for our home work.

Twenty steps from the bedroom is perfect for me (the same is true for Lynn, Nicole and Mark).

None of us had to “ask off” today.

We didn’t report to anyone.

F-U-N!!!

(Didn’t stay long enough to connect with Russell Brunson. He was getting a massage. SISSY!!!!!!)

You know… working from home… taking day trips to meet with friends… enjoying a nice lunch and talking business and cool stuff… well, it’s a blast.

But it’s not an accident. We’ve all worked hard to be where we are. And we all love helping you get to a similar lifestyle (if that’s what you want).

If you’re wondering how to set up your home business, your home office, your relaxed lifestyle check out Jimmy D. Brown’s Report. Solid!

Affiliate Marketing Training

On August 1, 2009, in online business, by Paul Evans

Mark Thompson and I are going to help you become a great affiliate marketer (for FREE)!

Free Affiliate Marketing Training

Yesterday  I was depositing some Clickbank affiliate commission checks.

ch

And a couple of things hit me…

1) Jeffrey Gitomer.

He says that when you ask people how sales are going, they say something like, “We’ll it’s OK. But you know the economy is down. People aren’t buying like they used to.”

When Jeffrey is asked how he is doing, he answers, “Cashin’ checks, baby!! Cashin’ checks!”

2) I was reminded that I make a lot of money as an affilate, but don’t talk much about it.

Affiliate marketing is an AWESOME way to create rapid income online.

  • You do not have ot create a product.
  • Someone else hands all the transactions.
  • You get paid.

Mark and I have been putting together a series of products that we are getting ready to start releasing them. Of course, we would love to have you as an affiliate.

But even if you never sell one of our products, we want to train you to become a great affiliate marketers. Here’s why…

  1. You would make more money and enjoy a better life.
  2. You would help others. Making more money means you would be able to help more charitible organizations.

However, if you are not interested in helping others. If you would not give money to feed the hungry, rescue orphans, etc please do not sign up. We’re not interested in helping the greedy – just those who will help the needy. :-)
