Hollywood Launches Part 1 [181]

On April 30, 2010, in internet marketing, by Paul Evans

“How many offers are too many?”

Folks r always looking for a number. For an answer. For a formula that fits perfectly.

Maybe ur looking for that as well.

Something like… “It’s ok to promote a product every 14.1 days.”

Hmmm……

Then you have hollywood.

4 new movies come out next Friday!

Every Friday is launch day. A new slate of movies comes out. People line up. Especially if the movie looks good.

Next week, Ironman comes out. My family will be there…

We’ll go at the “cheap” time…

$7.50 x 4 = $30 + $20 for snacks = $50 for 2 hrs of mental adventure and entertainment.

No refunds.

No reentry.

If we fall asleep, it’s too bad. We do not get to login again and replay.

And will Hollywood say, “Well, the Evans’ just bought something. We just captured two hours of their lives that they will never get back. We destroyed their hearing with explosive surround sound. We’ve shown them a good time concerning a world that cannot possibly exist. Let’s give them a rest.”

Nope.

They will continue to promote and pummel.

And we will not be offended.

We’ll thankfully pay and be excited. (Sure, we’ll whine about the price of popcorn as we munch it down to the bottom of the canyon sized tub.)

In fact, we cannot wait to see something else cool coming our way.

In fact, fact, u and I will watch those coming attractions clips and actually make comments to those sitting along side. “Wow! That looks good! Can’t wait until that comes out.” Or, “Bet that was the best part of the whole movie. Lame. Not seeing that.”

So how often can you launch?

As often as you want.

More in Part Two… from Hollywood.

Success is NOT an Accident!

Apathy [180]

On April 28, 2010, in online business, by Paul Evans

The expressionless look and careless ticketing assured me that I was back home.

After being “stranded” in Ireland for an extra four days it was good to board a plan and return to the US. (Though Ireland was a great place to be stuck.) :-)

But like I said.

It was obvious I was home because of the service.

Dragging feet.

Mumbling words.

Minimal effort.

Ah…. the average U.S. employee.

Think that’s too strong a stereotype.

Ok… here’s an experiment for United States readers. Over the next 24 hours pay close attention to EVERY person you come in contact with in the “employee” role.

How many are really engaged?

How many are really doing their best?

These are the same people who hate their jobs and are looking for a way to escape via the internet.

They think they should get paid JUST FOR SHOWING UP AND TAKING UP SPACE!

LOL! Hilarious. But that’s the general attitude of the average employee. It’s written all over their faces.

Here’s the good news…

That crowd of apathy are your competition!

They surge online expecting to make make money for showing up. They have the same attitude online as offline and think they are somehow entitled to a check.

The real reason so many fail online is because they were first failing offline.

A person can’t bring a bad mind to the table and expect to win.

So when you hear folk whining in forums or complaining about things not working, just smile.

You know the reason it doesn’t work for them. And that separates you from the competition like crazy.

Success is NOT an Accident,

Paul

Information Overload [179]

On April 28, 2010, in online business, by Paul Evans

Information Overload is a myth.

It’s impossible to get overloaded.

The best answer for this question (how fast is the brain) can be obtained because we have good estimates for the three main variables that enter into it: how many neurons (brain cells) we have, how fast a neuron can fire, and how many cells it connects to. A human being has about 100 billion brain cells. Although different neurons fire at different speeds, as a rough estimate it is reasonable to estimate that a neuron can fire about once every 5 milliseconds, or about 200 times a second. The number of cells each neuron is connected to also varies, but as a rough estimate it is reasonable to say that each neuron connects to 1000 other neurons- so every time a neuron fires, about 1000 other neurons get information about that firing. If we multiply all this out we get 100 billion neurons X 200 firings per second X 1000 connections per firing = 20 million billion calculations per second.

Some people have estimated that the storage capacity of the human brain is functionally infinite- that is, we can essentially always find room to store more information if we want to, so no practical limit exists. A more principled lower estimate might be made using the numbers above. Let’s assume that a change in any connection strength between two connected neurons is equal to one bit of information and further assume (a huge over-simplification) that neural connections have just two possible strengths (like a bit in a computer, which is either 1 or 0). Then each neuron has ‘write’ access to 1000 bits of information, or about 1 kilobyte. So we have 100 billion (number of neurons) X 1 K of storage capacity, or 100 billion K. That’s about 100 million megabytes. Since in fact neural connections are not two-state but multi-state and since neuron bodies can also change their properties and thereby store information, this is a very low estimate, so you can see why some people have estimated it to be functionally infinite.

Chris Wesbury, associate professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Alberta.

So obviously, we are in no danger of overload.

And just how powerful is the brain?

Brain Power

Here’s a wild 60 minutes report where people are typing messages on a computer just using thought.

“Once in a while, we run across a science story that is hard to believe until you see it. That’s how we felt about this story when we first saw human beings operating computers, writing e-mails, and driving wheelchairs with nothing but their thoughts.”

Information overload?

I don’t think so.

Yet all the time in online business I hear “I’ve got information overload.” Basically they tried to consume too many conflicting instructions at once. BUT your brain CAN and WILL process the information IF you didn’t feel the urgency to understand EVERYTHING immediately.

Attempting to understand and master 100% the functionality of…

  • Autoresponders
  • Shopping carts
  • Copywriting
  • Graphic design for selling
  • Product creation
  • Webinars
  • Audio recording and editing
  • Dozens of possible business models
  • Social media
  • Search engine optimization
  • Pay Per Click
  • Click Bank
  • PayPal
  • Affiliate marketing
  • Affiliate program management
  • Finding your niche
  • List building
  • And on and on and on

…all at one time and instantly – that’s the problem.

Can our brains sift through all those puzzle pieces and make sense of them? Yep. But as soon as it starts working on one problem we give it another 73 issues to add to the pot and it has to readjust the calculations.

Our minds are not overloaded, just not able to finish the current calculations before we add more “numbers” to it.

Imagine a kid at the blackboard (dry erase board).

The problem is 4 + 6+ 9 x 4 – 18 = ____________.

Little Johnny gets to 4 + 6 + 9 = 19 and is getting ready to multiply it by 4.

Suddenly the teacher rushes to the board and slips 32 + 42 – 12 to the front of the equation.

Johnny stands there with 19 in his head. And sees this…

32 + 42 – 12 + 4 + 6+ 9 x 4 – 18 = ____________.

Does he still have the ability to work the problem?

Yes.

Is it going to take more time?

Yes.

If the teacher sprints to the board and continues to add to the equation can Johnny continue to work the problem?

Yes.

But it will take time.

Our brains are powerful. But give them time to digest the information and equations placed there.

A little more than a decade ago I did not know HTML, PHP, Photoshop, membership script installation, online business models, or a lot of other things that are common today.

Point…

DO NOT GIVE UP!!

You are not overloaded.

Your brain can handle it.

Keep learning. Keep thinking. Let your brain do the work.

Just give it some time.

Success is NOT an Accident,

Paul

Private Label Rights Power [178]

On April 17, 2010, in online business, by Paul Evans

PLR (private labels rights) gives you permission to sell or give away content as if it is your own.

(If you do not “get” plr, I created a private label rights tutorial series that covers everything.)

[Nicheology members do not buy that, it's included in your subscription.]

As you know, I am in Dublin with my mastermind group.

Leanne Ely shared this morning about what’s working for her over at savingdinner.com

We were giving feedback on her business models and site and someone commented on her pizza recipe ebook.

Leanne said, “Yeah, I listened to Paul and got some PLR. I got the pizza

private label rights content for $1.99″

Carrie said, “How many of those have you sold?”

Leanne: “Over a 1,000.”

It’s simple math.

1,000 sales x $17 = $17,000

It’s the same formula I have been preaching for years…

Find your niche. Build your list. Launch your product.

And the EASIEST way to launch a product FAST is private label rights. It’s the ultimate shortcut!

Another note to members using PLR. You make it a priority to go through the PLR Conversion System. And if you’re wanting to release a new PLR based product every two weeks follow the 360 Cash Catalyst.

During the Nicheology 6 year anniversary I’ll be sharing how I used PLR to launch a product walking out the door to vacation with my family. By the time we arrived the entire trip was paid for!!!

Even though my company provides PLR, I actually use a lot of private label rights myself. It’s powerful. It’s a tool anyone can use to create a product fast.

Internet Marketing [177]

On April 16, 2010, in internet marketing, by Paul Evans

Our trip to Ireland continues.

Fortunately the UK Ash Cloud will not delay our return home. (Even though Ireland is fantastic and cannot wait to bring my family here.)

Here are the continuing adventures and some internet marketing lessons.

Let’s begin with food!!!!!

Mr. Video "Perry Lawrence" enjoys pasta carbonara bacon.

Mark Thompson slurping up some spaghetti.

Mark Thompson slurps up some spaghetti.

Pizza - my #1 food group after hamburgers.

Ooooooo… you want to see real Irish food???

Traditional Irish Breakfast

What's in it? Great question.

Gallagher's Boxty House with the team

Bangers and Mash. This was goooooooooood! Yum.

Marketing lessons…

Hope - this dessert is basic marketing. It's hope. You hope it's good. You believe it will be. You don't want to be let down.

Happiness - the root of almost every purchase is happiness. A lady buying a dress is not just clothing, It's about the way it makes here feel. It's about the great comments she gets in it. From hope to happiness. Memorize it. This dessert clean plate is evidence of this lesson in action.

Mastermind…

Perry Lawrence shares the secrets of his latest product launch. This is stuff not talked about on the street or at live events. A mastermind group accelerates your business and takes you farther faster.

But a note on that. I hear people say things like… “Oh, I’m not going to join one of those $15K a year programs. I think we should form our own mastermind.”

Right.

A bunch of broker people getting together to share their ideas. That’s just silly. :-)

Get in a REAL group and learn and share with people who have proven, long-term success. The Big Game Plan in Ireland is over (so do not try to order). But it was a great couple of days with those who committed themselves to long term success and were willing to invest in it.

Find a group with a solid leader. Pay to play.

Global Office [176]

On April 14, 2010, in online business, by Paul Evans

Coming to you from Ireland!

Who would have thought…a country that did not require much dietary adjustment! :-)

Plus the Irish people and culture are incredible. Hospitable. Joyful. Unmatched sense of humor.

The country is beautiful. AND… it’s been sunny and warm! Everyone is confused. (But since I stay in an hyperactive state this seems completely normal.)

The Cliffs of Moher

At the Cliffs, Mark Thompson, Barry Chandler and myself crossed the barriers and went Cliff Side. We crawled  on our stomachs to the edge and peered over. Usually I am not scared of heights, but my heart raced looking at certain death if the ground gave way.

It was easy to see why the Cliffs of Moher are one of the natural wonders of the world.

The Cliffs came on the heels of our stay at Ashford Castle.

Ashford Castle

Frank our fishing guide out on Lake Cong. (Castle in the background.)

Here’s the question…

What do you want your business to look like?

What do you want it to feel like?

Create your business style.

On one side we are attracted to online business because of income.

But it’s the awesome freedom and flexibility that most crave.

Whether I am working with the children in India (as you saw last month). Or working with students in Dublin over the next two days…

Not the best quality photo, but the smiles are obvious. We are having FUN!

Gertrude, Bart & Christian - serious pose

Carrie Wilkerson “The Barefoot Executive” teaching the Sequential Sales System

All this is FUN!

Design your business so you and your people enjoy it! :-)

Do not get so focused on the money (yes, I know it’s essential). Get a clear picture of the lifestyle you;re wanting to create. How you want to run your business. Places you want to run  your business from.

Listen, I’ve done product launches from an orphanage in Africa. This is not a dream, it’s possible.

The List Grows [174]

On April 6, 2010, in internet marketing, by Paul Evans

Why is the success rate for businesses so low?

There are TONS of reasons, but here’s one more for any list you might be keeping…

“I already knew that.”

This morning I heard a conversation…

Names and photos have been disguised to protect the guilty…

For a Larger View… Rusty the Ironman PDF

I run into “know-it-alls” like Ironman all the time.

But fortunately, I also run into smart folks who learn everywhere they go. Whether it’s a book or a full blown educational product – the only people who don’t learn anything are those destined to fail.

Heck, even if the the resource is just a reminder of stuff you knew already be thankful for that, Learn from it.

India Mercy Home

On April 6, 2010, in online business, by Paul Evans

Last week I was in India and here is a brief slide show of the children!!!

THIS IS WHY I do business the way I do. To rescue orphans. IT’s why I want to help you make a livcing online, so you can help others as well.

If our businesses are only about money, we’ll never leave a legacy or live with purpose. Period.
