Nicheology Profit Letter
Issue 110: Simple Focus
By Paul Evans
=============================
Before getting into this issue I’d like to thank you for all the positive and inspiring comments from this “simple” series.
This series is super fun because it’s based not in tactics, but a philosophy. These concepts can help you simplify your business and life.
My friends joke on me about my “3s” also known as “Trifecta Training.” Just about every aspect of my business can be found in 3 steps or a 3 process.
Nicheology is a 3: Find your niche. Build your list. Launch your product.
Online business is 3: Traffic, list, offers.
It keeps me focused. I do not try to do everything, I do 3 things.
3 traffic methods per niche.
3 revenue streams from a market.
3 goals for the day.
…and so on.
Are you trying EVERYTHING? There’s no need. That’s why you’re distracted. That why you’re not making the progress you want. That’s why the simple life hasn’t materialized yet.
Concentrating on just three points provides focus.
Trying to complete a get done list of 50 elements seems huge. But focusing on just three of the 50 at a time makes it super possible.
For example…
A while back I mentioned that the biggest chunk of profit was coming from an area I was spending the least time on. In fact, the entire business model is embarrassingly simple.
I also mentioned putting together a resource to teach you the system. Well, it’s not getting done in a day. Each morning I’m taking 3 steps toward the goal. And the plan is to be finished next week.
By breaking down the project into small, doable steps it’s possible to focus on what needs to get done right now.
The Simple Focus Formula:
01 :: WHAT do you need to get done?
Write down what you are going to do and each piece required.
02 :: How long will it take?
Write down an estimate of the amount of time it will take you to get the step you’re focusing on finished.
03 :: When will you do it?
Schedule the time. Write it down. And work ONLY on the step during that segment.
This isn’t rocket science. It’s simple. Being productive is easy. You just need to use the 3 points above and then have the discipline to ignore the typical distractions.
Success is NOT an Accident,
Paul

Hey Paul!
Simple advice from a straight shooter.
Sometimes people get so caught up in things that they make it way too complex. Your advice is a great way to break it down into simple terms.

Hi Paul –
Superb advice. I recently came across a new time management method which I thought fitted in with my thinking. As with others it starts with writing a to do list. Then working through it three times before deciding whether what you didn’t do really needs to be done/delegated or broken down further and writing on a new to do list. The key point for me was that as you work through your current to do list, you ADD NEW things that crop up to a NEW list. That way you don’t forget them and they don’t distract you now.
So why haven’t I started yet?
Well – because my first do to list got so long I was swamped with how much I wrote on it, so I haven’t got started yet.
NOW I have it! I just make my first to do list 3 things long! Simple! Why didn’t I think of it? Thanks!

Thanks so much for this. I am guilty of trying to do way too much and it seems like I’m accomplishing little.
I refuse to give up! I know I need to focus on one project at a time. Your words of encouragement mean a lot.

Thank You, As humans we tend to over-complicate things to provide an excuse for not doing what we should do to create the success we desire.

WOW. I run a limo service and your “law of 3″s are an eye opener. I am a little bewildered with trying something else online but I am very encouraged with those simple nuggets of truth. THANKS.

Paul,
First just want to thank you for your words of encouragement and your comments from the last post you made. I am more determined now than ever to SUCCEED!
As for this post, I think this is an idea that will help me to just back up and take a little more time to be productive in my work. Seems I try to get EVERYTHING done, everyday, and end up getting NOTHING accomplished. This is definitely a tactic I intend to employ beginning in the morning. Actually, I am starting to write out my To Do list tonite.
Seems I see a small glimpse of sunshine just over the horizon.
Thank you for the great posts.
Sincerely,
Robert
